On April 26, 2026, in Batumi, Varazdat Lalayan secured his third European Championship title in the +110 kg class with 210 kg in the snatch, 241 kg in the clean & jerk and a 451 kg total.
He won by a wide margin over Russia's Daniil Vagaytsev (425 kg) and Timur Naniev (418 kg), taking triple gold across snatch, clean & jerk and total.
Lalayan also attempted a 253 kg clean & jerk for a new European record, but the lift was unsuccessful. The Armenian super heavyweight is the reigning silver medalist of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
