The 2015 World Championships were held in Houston, USA on 19–28 November — the first World Championships in the United States in many years. The event was a key qualification stage for the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Armenia took two total-classification bronze medals — Andranik Karapetyan in the men's 77 kg class (363 kg) and Gor Minasyan in the +105 kg class (437 kg). Simon Martirosyan finished 5th in the 105 kg class with 402 kg, taking snatch bronze.
