One of the stars of Armenian weightlifting — two-time Olympic silver medalist and two-time World Champion (2018, 2019).
In 2014 Martirosyan won Summer Youth Olympic gold in the +85 kg class. At just 19 years old at the Rio 2016 Olympics he claimed silver in the 105 kg class.
At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Martirosyan again won silver, this time in the 109 kg class — becoming a two-time Olympic silver medalist. He currently holds the world record for the 109 kg total.
