The 2021 World Championships were held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 7–17 December — the first Worlds after the Tokyo Olympics. Armenia took two total-classification medals: Varazdat Lalayan silver in the +109 kg class with a 457 kg total (his first World medal), and Simon Martirosyan bronze in the 109 kg class with 416 kg.

Small medals: Andranik Karapetyan won snatch gold at 89 kg (175 kg) and Samvel Gasparyan snatch bronze at 102 kg (175 kg); Martirosyan also took snatch silver and clean & jerk bronze.
