The 2019 European Championships were held in Batumi, Georgia on 6–13 April. This was the first European championship under the new IWF bodyweight categories (109 kg, +109 kg, etc.). Armenia took two golds — Hakob Mkrtchyan (89 kg) and Simon Martirosyan (109 kg) — plus several bronze medals.
